Job Description

We are seeking a Head of Compliance to lead and scale the compliance function for a fast-growing, regulated financial technology organization. This role will be responsible for designing and overseeing enterprise-wide compliance programs while partnering closely with executive leadership, product, engineering, and operations teams to support continued growth.

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of regulatory expertise, operational execution, and business-minded decision-making, with experience operating in complex, high-growth financial services environments.

Job Requirements

  • Own and lead all compliance activities across the organization.

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable compliance frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements and business objectives.

  • Oversee AML, BSA, KYC, CIP, CDD, EDD, OFAC, and fraud prevention programs.

  • Conduct enterprise risk assessments and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.

  • Serve as the primary compliance liaison for regulators, auditors, banking partners, and third-party vendors.

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Partner with product, engineering, data, and operations teams to embed compliance into product design and customer workflows.

  • Support regulatory exams, audits, and partner reviews.

  • Build and lead a high-performing compliance team as the organization scales.

  • Monitor regulatory changes and translate requirements into actionable business practices.

Job Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. financial services regulations and compliance standards.

  • Hands-on experience managing AML and transaction monitoring programs.

  • Experience working with banking partners, processors, and third-party vendors.

  • Ability to balance regulatory risk with commercial and operational objectives.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with executive-level presence.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited structure.

Job Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive compliance experience in fintech, payments, banking, or regulated financial services.

  • Proven experience building or scaling compliance programs from the ground up.

  • Experience managing regulatory examinations and audits.

  • Prior leadership experience, including hiring and developing compliance teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or compliance certifications preferred.

  • Experience supporting consumer-facing or alternative financial products strongly preferred.
